FAQ

Canvey Island is set for a major transformation, with a £20 million regeneration plan submitted to the Government. The funding, part of the Government’s Pride in Place programme, will be invested over the next 10 years to deliver lasting improvements across the island.

You can find out more about the Pride in Place programme and on the Government’s website.

Pride in Place is a chance for local people to shape the future of Canvey Island. Initial engagement with the community took place in September and October 2025 with the “postcards from the future” activities.

The Neighbourhood Board is planning more activities and events for year one of the plan and would like to keep hearing from you.

Please do sign up to our mailing list and keep an eye on this website to find out about new ways to get involved. If you have any ideas and questions please let us know!

Over the next 10 years (from April 2026), there will be just under £20m funding available to spend to shape the future of Canvey.

The Neighbourhood Board are keen to build on the momentum of the programme and the opportunity for Canvey to attract additional, matched funding to help support the projects put forward under the Regeneration Plan.

Delivery funding, for the first year of the plan, is expected to be received once the Government formally approves the Regeneration Plan.
